HOW DO I...
REGISTER WITH THE PRACTICE?

Patients are welcome to register at the surgery. The practice has a policy that we do not discriminate on terms of race, creed, age, disability etc and will register any patient in residency within the practice boundaries. Please ask the receptionist for details.

Patients have a right to see a specific practitioner if they should so wish and they should tell the receptionist of their preference when making an appointment. However, while the practice will endeavour to comply with their wishes there will be occasions when it will not be possible.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN AN APPOINTMENT?

The practice operates an appointment system. These appointments are generally 10 minutes long. The practice allows the booking of doctors' appointments in advance up to one week ahead only, unless patients have been specifically told by the doctor to return in a period in excess of one week.

However, we do operate an urgent surgery available for acute cases.

EMERGENCIES

There is always a doctor available for emergencies. If you need a doctor urgently, please telephone Rochdale 355111. Please tell the receptionist the nature of the problem, so the emergencies may be given priority.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN HOME VISITS?

Home visits are for patients who are too ill or infirm to attend at the surgery.

Home visits take up more of the doctor's time, therefore please do not ask the doctor to call unless the patient is genuinely too ill to come to the surgery. Lack of transport, inconvenience or minor ailments are not reasons for a home visit. If possible, home visits should be requested BEFORE 10.00am, so that the doctor's day may be planned effectively.

In an EMERGENCY, telephone Rochdale 355111, any time of day or night. A recorded message will give you the number of the doctor on duty.
